Lapping worked for me!

i finally got around to hitting my SVC Goldengate 38 with some 600grit sandpaper for a good 30 mins and it came out real perrty. Before moving my fingernail acrosse it would get stuck in the grooves, after it slid right off like a babys botem. Also before hand I was using no thermal compund, and this time I slaped on some artic silver II, and together with the artic silver II and the lapping I shaved 10 degress celcius avg off my temps. now I am runing 40c idle 45c load.

thats fun to lap your heatsinks. i didnt gain much when i did mine but its that extra touch of goodness....:)
