Hi, I'm upgrading a PC for my sister, and I'm giving her a new mobo, CPU, mem and PSU.

The PSU is already decided: Fortron 350W model
CPU not 100%: Athlon XP2000+
Mobo: Biostar micro-ATX socket A compatible mobo.
Mem: 256MB stick (not important here)

Now, my questions are: Is a regular ATX flat desktop case (the old case) compatible with a micro-ATX mobo?
Would it be easy to mod into micro-ATX compatibility?

Second: The power supply says its made for ATX, right. This also includes micro's, right? I'm quite sure it is, can't see why not, honestly, but as its my sisters money, I'd better double check anything and everything...
I don't want to come into any surprises. You simply can't be too assured.

Also, an XP 1700+, is it compatible with a regular micro-ATX mobo?
Since its in the Mobile series. also, is it cheaper than a 2000+ ?
I mean, she's at uni now, the onyl thing whe needs atm is something that outperforms this P3 500 at the cheapest price possible...

The biostar M7NCG 400 (which is what I'm assuming your talking about) will use all your existing equipment except your case. You will need to make sure your case's motherboard mounting holes match that of the mothertboards. It probably does, and if it doesn't all you will need to do is drill a few holes and get the necessary holders.

AFAIK micro ATX does not have any seperate requirements than ATX. The only different is the size of the board and its mounting holes.

So the modding will be easy, if it is even neccessary at all.
And the PSU will work fine...
Thanks, thats basicly all I needed to know...

Oh, and the one I had in mind was the Biostar M7VIG 400...
