Help a newbie out... What's all that stuff stand for? What makes one better than the last.

Don't get me wrong, I know plenty about computers and networking, I just don't know what AXIA and AYHJA stands for.

As mrpcman said, they are stepping codes. The codes change as they refine the manufacture process to eliminate imperfections and make small revisions to the chip. AXIA and AYHJA are two of the more current steppings and are the current favorites for overclocking. The codes can be found printed on the processor's core.

There are alot of past threads on the subject, some of which go into alot of detail about what the entire stepping code means. They're good reads.
