artic cooling is coming out with a rev 4 very soon and it has a copper hs and it also cools the ram on the card. they also have 2 verisons, one for ati and one for nvidia.

before you mess with that heatpipe.... take a look at the zalman website and see how much fun putting it on you're card will be..... ;)

The arctic silencer is hands down the better cooler. Its cheaper, lighter, easy to install and (IMO) cools better. I have one on my 9800 Pro, and it works very well.

well so far from the reviews I have seen of the new ZM80D-HP its cools slightly better then the current Version VGA silencer. Also I thought the version 4 VGA silencer wasn't due out for a while yet(I heard almost 2 months).

I third that! :D
I have it on my current r9800Pro and it works good so far. I didn't O/C the card to its limits yet, but so far I could get ~35-45 more Mhz's out of my card with it (only about 25mhz with stock HSF before artifacts). I'm sure I can do more, but I only need to o/c it when I play games like FarCry with some AA.

I'd go with the VGA silencer and this is coming from someone who had the Zalman. The Zalman cools extremely well but it is too heavy and like was stated previously, it's a son of a gun to mount to your card. I'm patiently waiting for Arctic Cooling to make a silencer for my 9800XT.
wait, so when is rev 4. coming out? i'm planning to get one for my x800pro and if its coming out real soon i might just wait... otherwise i'll probably order the rev3 tomorrow from newegg once its in stock

Thank you all for the replies!
Today Arctic Coller customer support replied to my email,
"In about 6 weeks we will release 8 new VGA coolers.
Best Regards"
