My bios on my motherboard only goes to 1.90.
I need 1.95.
Is there a trick on the pins or tabs to up the voltage? I have read about it on the new PIIIs but not the slots.
Thanks

I don't think slot cpus can be modded. I've certainly been proven wrong before, but based on the unusual lack of response, I'd say your SOL.

There's a way, I just have to find the link

Here's one of them. There was another one that applied to PIIIs. I'll keep looking

That sounds like it would work, but on a PIII?
I would appreciate if you could find the other article.
Thanks

Well, I couldn't find it, but I did find something else. The last few sentences says that PIIs and PIII have the same pins, so it *should* work. I can't guarantee it, though

Has anybody tried this?

I did not see that in the article, but I'll re-read it.
Thanks!

Thanks! Oh, whoops, I meant to add another link in there, but now I've lost it again. It should still work, though. All Slot 1s use the same interface, that's why motherboards can support PIIs and PIIIs

I DONT want to solder anything. I can live with 979mhz if that is the case.
Can't you use the fingernail polish trick? Or does changing the pin void any bios settings?
It looks to me if you crossed vid3 to vid1 somehow
and then coverd vid3 you would have 1.95. The easiest looks like to cover vid3 with nail polish (or something else) and that would give you 2.05. But that a little higher than I want to go.
Thanks

Forget about what I said in the earlier post.
I have been reading and the only change I could make without soldering, is from 1.65 to 2.1 volts default.
Now if I did that could I back up on the voltage in the bios? I need to see how far back I can go from 1.65v now in the bios, I guess. That should tell me how many volts I can go in reverse.
Is this correct? Or would I be stuck at just 2.1 volts?
Thanks for any comments.

Your gonna have to do some soldering. Anyway, here is (http://forums.2cpu.com/showthread.php?threadid=4934) some more info on this subject and a few links you might check out.

I remember there was a way to do that on the slot cel's like the 333a overclocked to 450Mhz that way it's has something like a little piece of tap on the 31st pin and on the 19th pin...
but try to search a live for that...
Good Luck buddy a push it hard when overclocked ;)
