I have a Creative TNT2 Ultra and I got it booted at 9x160 on my Athlon 1Ghz AXIA. The funny thing is, it might get hang all in the sudden (screen got hang) and theres nothing to do with heat as I've got an old Celeron heatsink and fan on it chipset. I guess it might be the FSB which is running too high. Does anyone out here knows of any known programs so that I could adjust the AGP divider or something ?. A new bios for my EpoX 8KTA Pro board or probably any solution for this ?. HELP ME PLEASE !!!

That's too much for a TNT2 I'm guessing, I'd lower your FSB a bit, d'you have AGP 2x or 4x enabled?

I tried disabling everything in the BIOS and even with AGP 1x but it still hangs !. I wonder whats the problem. My core is running at 190 Mhz and Memory at 215 Mhz. Am I getting too far ? :) I was thinking of getting an Abit Siluro MX400 but anyway, I would really like to get my TNT2 working !.

Of course it's not necessarily your TNT, 160 might be straining the ol' memory a bit.......what about 155?

Damn 190 and 215? Are you using the original fan/heat sink that came on it without any ram sinks? The hightest I could clock mine was 175 and 200. Anything above that and I would get visual problems in games.

I have a Celeron heatsink and fan attached to it so thats why Im able to overclock it so high. I tried running on 155 bus speeds and it still hangs. At 153, it proves to be stable. I dont think its my RAM because it boots into Windows 2K and ME without any errors but the screen just gets hang out of a sudden and not at the same spot all the time. I guess its the TNT2 but if I can only have a software to change the divider then maybe I could run it at even 162 !

You wouldn't necessarily get any errors if it is your memory but it would certainly cause 'hanging'. I can't hit 160 myself because of my memory. Also the cpu/memory/agp might not be getting enough juice, what voltages are you running these at?

I think it's just a simple case of your AGP divider not being high enough. Lower the FSB 'till the problem goes away, and that's as far as you can go.

BTW, AGP should be on the highest setting (4* if you have it) for best performance.....)

I tried running it at 1.6 upto 2.0 V but that doesnt help. Mine is at AGP 2x. Does the AGP Driving thing has got anything to do with the bus speed settings ?. I guess the max bus speed I could go is only 153Mhz :)
