windows update question

Hi all.

I just did a windows update scan on a w2k server. It returned and said i needed to update about 12 things. Do i really need to update them all? Do all of you who use this install all the recommended updates?
Im afraid after i install something its going to break somethig else hehe =)

Only install all of the critical updates, and review the rest to see if theres anything that might be useful.

agreed, The criticals are usually the latest security updates. Windows is only as secure as it's last update. Some of the recomended updates are crud. You can also personalize the updates screen. On the left sid click personalize updates...uncheck anything you know that you do not want to get. Remember to click save when done. You will no longer see the ones that you unselected.
