I was wondering if anybody had tried to do the silicon trick using the SK-6 because of the perculiar way it attaches the fan. I'm planning on getting one and I would love a way to quiet it down with the delta 38 while still keeping good temps.

don't see any reason why it won't work.

The reason I'm thinking it wouldn't work is because the fan isn't screwed on it and the silicon would probably go through the cracks between the fins, reducing the efficiency.

Why not try to put some straws between the fins where you apply the silicon. I think, really think, that it should be able to get away nicely when the silicon is hardend out.

btw: could you give me a link to the page where it was mentioned? lost it you see.
thnx
