Sounds inda silly but ive never thought about putting thermal paste on the cpu heat checker thingie (how very technical of me.....). Am I meant to? Ive never heard of anyone else doing it and I just thought it would make sense to do so..

you mean the probe below the CPU? It is done by some review sites, but I am not sure how much more accurate the probe becomes. The way the core temp is calculated leaves a lot to be desired.
