Hi. I have a PIII 1ghz cpu and I would like to OC it in a quick and easy way. I have the 133 fsb model. I am not to worried about heat (I have good air flow with 8 fans running air from front to back with a good heatsink and fan) because I would only bring it up a little bit. My other hardware should be able to handle this small OC. Radeon 64 ddr 384mb pc 133 ram etc. Say to 1100 or 1200. My Mobo is a VIA 693A ATX mainboard (if anyone has herd of it) I read the manual and it says that it will auto detect the cpu and do the setting itself. How would I OC this? I have tried softFSB and my mobo is not listed on it...unless there is a patch or somthing for it to add more mobo's. Any tips would be great. Thanks!

btw I have read almost every article I could get my hands on about OCing and I think im ready to do a small one.

Hi Thirus44, wellcome to the Forum,
take a look to the user manual of your Mobo, i suppose that there's a jumper to disable the chip autodetection, at this point you can rise the Fsb (system bus) from the original 133Mhz to the desidered freq., generally 140 or 150Mhz.

I hope it helps you ;)

Hey thanks for the tip...Im going to look into that. Does anyone know if I can use soft fbs with my mobo? I found the jumper settings and my manual only has instructions on how to go up to 133 fsb. But it also says... "When "Default" is selected, you may use JP100 and JP133 to select different speed of CPU FSB clock and force your cpu to use that clock speed instead of letting the system BIOS to select the CPU clock automatically."
Any tips...im not sure how to take it above 133. I should be able to shouldnt I? Btw its an azza mobo.

Hey there, it sounds to me like your MOBO is only capable of 133 fsb. What kind of comp is it?
