Well, i turned on my rig and nothing came up. Reset cmos, still nothing. Tried another psu, nothing. Tried another video card nothing.

I have tried everything but another chip. I don't have another amd chip.

Strange, but the same thing happened to my brother this morning. His celeron II 700 @ 790 ( my old chip ) just died upon startup. Never woke up.

Now im running my bf6 motherboard, 64mb pc100 crap ram, and a celeron 266 (slot) @ 300 1.9v (defualt is 2). My brother is using my p3 450 right now...he has to go back to college.

well, its ok, im getting a 1ghz thunderbird soon anyway....i hope and pray that my mobo/ram isn't dead!

:(

If you unlocked your chip with the pencil trick then maybe the decay of the graphite that people talk about is the cause of your problem. I know it doesn't sound too likely but remote as it is it's the only thing I can think of right now. Other than that I'm out of ideas. If something else comes to me I'll let you know.

Thanx alot....that can't be the problem, i tried erasing, and redoing them again.

I have tried everything...for 22 hours.....nothing but trying.

Carmine...Were there any thunderstorms where you live before this happened? Remember any power spikes or anything similar the last time your PC was working properly?
