What is a Winmail.dat file??

its a file that you cant really read right or your comp cant read the format.
ask the sender to send it to you in text. or just do a google search and find a program that can read it.
 
If the sender is using Outlook's RTF format then OE will never find the attachment...OE doesn't understand Outlook's RTF format. Like rhino56 suggested, ask the sender to use plain text or HTML when sending to you. If you press Ctrl-F3 while viewing the message, you can see the source code. If a part says Content=ms/tnef (or somehing like that), it was sent in Outlook's RTF format.
 
We get those messages from time to time over here. I found a little program that will decode the message inside the .dat file.
