Can someone reccomend either freeware or shareware software to convert from midi to mp3? My dad needs it just for a couple files.

use itunes it is free and does a ton of cool stuff
Here's how?
Drag the MIDI file into iTunes.
Hilight it and go to the menu "Advanced," choose "Convert Selection to...." (You can hilight a bunch, then do something else while they are processing.)
The file will be converted (to MP3 if that's what you have your preferences set to).
Find the file in your iTunes Music folder (Probably in the "Unknown" folder.).
