FX5900 series + Farcry = how pretty??

I've got an FX5900XT OC'ed higher than the FX5950 ultra. My question is: how high can I run the settings in Far Cry for the best IQ. I'm considering buying the game this weekend, but I don't want to turn off all the eye candy to play the game.

I'm quite happy playing at 1024 x 768, or even 800 x 600. Would it be worth it, or not?

I play at high setting and quite satisfied with the eye candy stuff. I get stalls the first 2 minutes of playing or when I pop of the first few shots. Runs pretty smooth with this BFG card. at stock overclock speed. But I think that the stalls are RAM related. Simply not enough. Needs at least 1GB of RAM

Yep, you're right. It's all because of ram. I have 512mb and I've had same symptoms as you, but my friend who has 1gb and also a r9800pro, had it all smooth. And that's been discussed somewhere too. I'll post back when I'll find the link.

You'll be able to play it fine assuming you have 512mb of ram or more and a decent processor.

If you have 1024 MB (or more) of RAM. You'll be in great shape. If you don't, you'll just be in good shaoe.:D

Game runs like a dream with my specs. And yeah 1gig of ram is a plus. when I take out a stick, it stutters.

Been very addicted to this game altely too. I didn'tealize how long this game is.
