Does anyone know where a good place to buy them from? Is there a place where you can hand pick or should I try ebay? If I ask someone on ebay to see if its a 30 caps will he be able to tell me? Can he see it through the packaging?
The CPU's FPO# -code is what you need to know and it reads on the package, so possibly your cpu's seller can read it from package to you. My 3,0C runs @ 3,6GHz with default voltages (but it isn't good enough for me :D) but I'm going to change this to Prescott 2,8E or 3,0E. Don't know yet.

Judging by your sig, you should update your ram, not cpu :P

You can get you pick of 3.0C cpu's at www.pcsupplysource.com . I got mine (SL6WK) 30 capper at www.newegg.com . Mine made it to 3.825ghz on default voltage.

Damien, you're not the first one who said it :P Well, but I'm all fine here. Going to get 2x256 SimpleTech NITRO PC-4000 sticks ;)

So does this mean if I get the ** http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-116-163&depa=0 - It'll be the SL6WK one?
What about the ones on googlegear / Zipzoomfly .. that's where I got my 2.6 from but it only gets me to 3.1 (ominous .. maybe?)

I order all of mine from PCSupplySource.com, as they will let you pick.
I have a SL6WK 3.0c stable @ 4.1GHz on AIR. It was packed on 3/2/2004
After going to Pcsupply's site I don't see any 3.0c's for sale.
All they have are Presscots. Did all you who bought from them see the 3.0c's on their webpage or just called personally?

If you have a 30 cap 2.8, then you have a M0 2.8c. They are completely different internally than a 30 cap 3.0c.

This isn't necessarily true. Sjaak has a 30 cap 2.8c and it isn't a M0.

True dat. I had play with 4 different 30 capper and 1 12 capper(see sig). All clock almost the same but the 12 capper in sig clock the highest.
The good 30 capper that I would like to try out is the one with the Q fab. Which mean the fpo/batch# begin with a Q instead of L, 3 or 7. Q fab have a default voltage of 1.475v and the rest is 1.55v. Most Q fab 30 capper chip I've seen can scale pretty high compare to other 30 capper.

If you're certain about that, it's good info for the rest of us.

That's what I have now...FPO/BATCH#: Q401A433. Came from Newegg shipped from NJ. It's at 3525 mhz now at stock voltage (1.475v). Cooling is holding me back...61-65 under load. This Zalman Al Cu isn't cutting it. But with the new Thermalright SB-2 and XP-120 comming out, I want to hold off on getting a new HSF until I see how well these work.
