Ok, i recently brought an overclocked processor (topic) guerenteed to run at 1.1Ghz and over, I have a Gigabyte GA-60XM7E, now this type of motherboard can use software to overclock it, I can overclock it with this to around 870mhz (77FSB), but any higher and my system freezes, now there is an jumper setting on the motherboard to set the FSB rate to 100mhz, which is of course what i need to run it at 1.1ghz, but when i start it with the jumpers set like this my system just seems to freeze, it doesn't appear to load and the monitor doesn't turn on, so i have to set it back to the shi*ty 66mhz FSB :-(, as you can imagine i am fairly dissapointed but have pointed the prob down to my motherboard..., any help would be appreciated :-)

Hi K, wellcome to the Forum,
To got a stable OC you must rise a little the voltage of your chip @100Mhz of Fsb, never over 15% than the rated voltage.
Take a look constantly to the temp of your Celeron, must be under 50 degree C, but less is better, what are your temp now at stock voltage/freq. and wich cooler are you using?

Well, i brought this from overclockers.co.uk, and they provided with a heatsink to allow it to run at 1.1ghz, the temp is normally 38 degrees i think, anyway i can get it to 850mhz liek i sais, thanx for helping mate

Maybe set the voltage 0.10 volts higher, then increase the bus to 100mhz (to keep the PCI in spec). Watch the temps to make sure they stay around 40C.

Sometimes climbing does work and you need to jump!

What type of processor is this anyway?
