yeah i have a epox 8kta3+ mobo and a 900 mhz tbird running at pretty low temps considering i have a very well ventilated case and a good heat sink/fan. anyway, i figure i wanted to overclock oneday so i decided to set the bus up to 120 mhz, a pretty jump i guess for a first time overclocker (my tbird has a 100 mhz bus). then when i saved to my bios, i noticed my computer wouldn't turn on. after unplugging my computer, i turned it on again it ran stable at 1080 mhz. but after that i could not get my computer to turn on again. so i experimented with different bus speeds, but the highest i could get was 104 mhz (holy shiot!) without my computer not turning on. i am currentely running 3 120mm panaflo fans, one 7200 rpm hard drive, and a 32x cd rom. do i need to increase my voltage to my bus or my cpu? is that why my computer isn't turning on?

For starters, when you're first overclocking you should do it in small steps i.e. 2-5mhz, never 20mhz!!
Also you said your Tbird has a 100FSB, some 100FSBers do not go much above 110Mhz, others won't post at all above 100
What voltage are you putting the cpu on?

Also have you tried keeping the FSB at 100 and just raising the multiplier a bit?

Oh yeah while I remember :), have you set jumper J5? this allows you to set 100-124 (I think) in position 1, pos 2 allows 133+

i think your a little off, all of the tbird chips will absolutely do a 133 FSB, it the memory that will hold you back, just drop the multiplier to 7.5 instead of 9 and up the FSB to 133 7.5x133 is 1gig with cooling like you say it SHOULD work
I could be wrong but I have NEVER seen a tibird not do 133 - even my slot 750 will do it

Sorry not quite what I meant, I realise most tbirds will do 133, but there have been a number of peeps having trouble getting their mobos to run at this speed.
However this one should be OK, unless of course you have a duff 8kta3, I heard via put out an iffy KT133a chipset not so very long ago that had problems running at 133.
The memory should be fine if it's PC133, you DO have the memory running at 133 yeah and not FSB+PCI or anything like that??
