View Full Version : Advice for a Noob? please
Noobie OCer looking for sugestions on where to go from here? So far I have only adjusted the FSB.
Idle temps @ 33C
Load Temps @ 40C
Unlocked - P4 2.0 ES @ 3.5ghz (Prescott w/1MB L2 Cache)
1G Generic SDRAM 3200 w/ Tt ram cooler
Cooler Master Aquagate
Asus P4C800 Deluxe
4x250 FSB 14 Multiplier
NVIDiA GeForce 5200 (128 RAM) w/ Zalman HS and fan
The question is: how much further can your CPU go? :) You really should try with a FSB of 300, multiplier 12 and the 3:2 divider (266MHz in Asus BIOS), and see if you're lucky. :) 12x300=3600MHz and with the 3:2 divider it runs the memory at it's stock speed of DDR400.
Good luck! :attn:
thanks. where in the bios do you adjust the divider?
when do you look at changing the vcore. I have it on auto now and it fluctuates between 1.34 & 1.39
Unlocked - P4 2.0 ES @ 3.5ghz (Prescott w/1MB L2 Cache) ??? and you need help???
"Unlocked - P4 2.0 ES @ 3.5ghz (Prescott w/1MB L2 Cache) ??? and you need help???"
LOL :) even a broken clock is right twice a day
You set the divider in the Jumperfree Configuration menu and "DRAM frequency". At "266MHz" 3:2 divider is used, "320MHz" is 5:4 and "400MHz" is 1:1. Also make sure you have the AGP/PCI locked at 66/33MHz.
thanks Solari i will try it now. I'll Be Back.
An FSB of 300 is more than many motherboards can handle, but it is worth trying. Hope it works.
Solaris, Locked up @ 300
went back to 257@ 14 and got windows to load,
tried 264 @ 14 booted but windows couldnt handle it.
i am at 257@14 now
suggestions?
btw temp went up to 36C
Yeah I figured out that FSB300 is hard to handle, but it was worth a shot. What multipliers are available on that CPU?
I am not sure ... at least 28. It is an odd chip. eng. sample for sure. how do you post a screen shot. I have cpu z
You have to upload it somewhere on the internet, and then post the url here.
Never got it to handle 300 fsb solari, :( but here is where I am now. Still looking for that elusive 4.0G :)
