Ok so i just finished buidling a little celery system for my brother and as i was checking everything out i noticed that the NB heatsink was Extreemly hot. Tis an MSI 845 Ultra series... MS-6398 i believe... Is this normal or should i just get some better cooling?

Salami_Joe, Don't worry about the Northbridge Temps

On most MSI boards there is not a sensor for the NorthBridge. What you are seeing is " Stray Voltage" being converted into a temp reading by the trace on the board where a sensor would be if it had one

The Northbridge is hot to the touch as it usually will run at 50C to 60C

I know this is a fact on the MSI 865 and 875 boards but not sure of the 845

You might what to go to the MSI forums here and ask your question . This group has been very helpful to me
