I have obtained a D-tek Tc-4 poly topped 1/2" waterblock. I believe I seen this block was meant to mount for amd chips? If so would there be any possible way to mount on an intel? If i took the heat shield off, then would it possibly mount correctly? I haven't taken the chance to check for myself yet. I just thought i'd ask a few questions.

What is a "heat sheild"
the top of the waterblock?

I think you need that to run correctly.
You could make a top for it or possibly buy one from dtek.

I believe the heat shield is what is covering the actual Intel Chip. Isn't it called a heat shield? I could be wrong.

Oh, the integrated heat spreader (IHS). Don't take that off. The IHS isn't the problem with mounting an AMD block to an Intel board. The mounting holes are different. D-tek sells an adapter. You can make your own if you're handy with metal work.

Ah thanks. I wasn't sure if I was able to buy an adapter.
