Hello all. Im trying to install Service pack 4 on a windows 2000 server machine. But everytime i try to install it would stop in the middle and tells me that it can't access netstat.exe and i should close any programs thats using and start again. I went into Task manager and i dont see netstat.exe running. I also tried using netstat in command prompt and it says access denied. How and what can i do to stop netstat.exe so that i can install SP4

I've checked the permissions also, Im logged in as the admin of the computer.

thanks!
Laura

Perhaps you could try installing SP4 while in safe mode?

Also if you are using the windows update version of SP4, don't, download the 120mb network version from the Win2k site, that will make your life a lot easier.

Hmm never knew i can install SP4 in safe mode. Yea i downloaded the full network install version.

but what is hogging up netstat.exe though? hmm weird

Thanks
L
