Outlook Express takes forever and a day to load up...

What could be the problem... all of a sudden, it just starts taking like over one minute to load up. It was working fine a few days ago, I dont recall messing with anything that could have affected its performance. any ideas? thakns

Do you have it checking any http email? i.e. hotmail?

Open task manager and watch it when you are loading OE. Let us know if OE is taking up all the CPU time or if another process is responsible.

It is checking my hotmail account, I dont have it set up to check my insightbb acount yet.

As far as the Task Manager, when I open it, nothing sky-rockets, CPU usage stays at 1-2%. I get "MSIMN.exe" appear and it takes like 17 CPU for a second then back to zero. Mem usage for it is 16,564 K. When I close that app (from the task manager), OE closes as well, so that must be it.

I am confused here, running all the windows updates, running cable moded on a router. any more idears? thanks guys.

Checking the hotmail account is likely whats just taking time.

I would delete the configuration for checking the hotmail account, then recreate it from scratch.

Thanks for all those links, looks like the answer is spmewhere in there.

IMOG, it has been checking a hotmail accoun for over a year, and it just started doing this maybe last week or so.

I will check those links when I get home from work, thanks.
