I just got a Celeron 800 and an Abit SA6. I'm using my old Alpha heatsink which I was using on my celeron 500@624 with no problems.
Now my problem is my CPU is running hotter than I want. One of my problem is case cooling which I'm working on. Right now with a load on my CPU my temps range in the 60's C.

My concern is my H/S seems a little loose on the cpu. I can slide it around I think to easily. I'm using some thermal grease from Rat Shack oops I mean Radio Shack. I'm getting ready to order some Artic Silver (I think). Should I look into gettting a new H/S fan or is my Aplha good enough once I get these little problems going.

I want to O/C my cpu I know it will run at 1GHZ I tried it but the temps got too high too fast for comfort. hehe

Thanks for any input....

Its prob loose. The older Alphas had a habit of having the wire clip too loose. You could always bend it a bit harder and try refitting it. Also...make sure the pressure area of the clip is right.

Thanks I'll tear that puppy apart and bend the clip a bit.

What has given the best results the fan pulling air away or blowing air down onto the H/S?
