New To Water Cool

I would like to water cool my system so I can overclock better, but I am new to it and I wouldn't know what to buy...If I gave you $200-300 to buy me a watercooling kit what would you get me and why. I want to cool my CPU/NB, Vid Card if possible and possibly HDD, although that woul be more for show. Can you water cool a 9800XT?

right offhand, with the little info you gave me:

swiftech 6002
swiftech MCP600
swifty GPU/NB, get to fit the system you didn't describe
heatercore, get to fit case you didn't describe.
fans, get to fit noise maximum, which you didn't describe.

and yes, you can watercool *anything*, you may just be on your own to engineer the solution

Your goals for the system, in terms of noise, temps, and overclock

priorities of said goals

do it yourself ability...case modding, soldering, etc.

what case you are using

what video card you will be cooling

what motherboard you are using, and what CPU (cannot assume it is same system as sig)

Not sure of my do-it-yourself ability...I am willing to learn if you can point me to some links...

I want to be able to overclock to extremes, while having a cool system, and I want less noise...I am thinking aout getting a new case without as many fans... So if you could suggest some part, like the main parts; pumps, waterblocks, and whatnot, I think I can figure out the tubing and such myself. Also if my case is not sufficient can you recommend a good case that will fit my needs as listed above?

Also if you have a watercooled system, can you safley transport it places, like to lan parties and stuff, or is there too much risk of leak?

hey greenman100, have him use a pure 1/2 system, don't mix the swifty chipset and video blocks in, and also, his case doesn't look too promising for a heatercore set-up, maybe tell him about dtek stuff?

in other words Ergnas,

2. swiftech MCP600/MCP650 (dtek aquaextreme/DD laing D4)

though i would differ with:

3. dangerden.com maze4 intel chipset block
4. silverprop HL video card waterblock

and also, depending on how much of your case you're willing to cut up:

5. dtekcustoms "procore"
6. dd round res

don't the swiffy gpu and nb blocks come in a 1/2 flavor?

baring multiple optical drives, that case could hold a 2-199 up in the top,

or a jr120 in the front or top.... which is just a $25 heater core +$10 for modding the barbs to it.

Not to get off topic, but couldn't resits... that is just so beatiful!

Can you gives us the specs of the water cooling, and comp, and the temps?
What case is that? What is that thing you used on the end of the T-line? Where can one get that?

That's not his rig IIRC... It's Scanido's and everyone steals his pics... The case is an out of production Cooler Master Praetorian.

Get a Fedco 2-342 Heater core if you can fit it in the top of your case... It's slightly larger than two 120mm fans side-by-side. Also, get the DD 12v Pump/Laing D4 (same pump) as they have fixed the noise issue with them.
