hi, im a overclocking newb. i just bought a new compaq 7000 serries at 1.4ghz athlon. i was hoping to over clock the geforce2mx that come with the computer. and if possible, the athlon thunderbird. i would like some advice on how to overclock the video card as well as cooling solutions. any suggestions or advice will be very appreciated.

If my site's up (which I cannot tell from here), you can download nvmax (http://speshalk.dyndns.org:1812/programs/). This will allow you to alter your core and memory frequencies on the video card. Raise them slowly, run a 3d game, and keep raising the values 5mhz at a time until there are visual distortions/artifacts when playing in 3d. Then back down until there are no more distortions, voila! Post your results back here and let us know how it went.

have at it, it's a resource for my fellow OC'ers.com members. When and if the traffic becomes too heavily, I'll just change folders or ports ;).

Hello,

I have had good results from the Geforce tweaker utility http://www.geforcetweak.com Keep in mind the 12:41 drivers do not support overclocking you will need to change them if thats what you have loaded now.
