My Modded Microsoft Keyboard

Well i have to start some where, so for my first mod i modded my keybaord i put 3mm LEDs in there i think 20 of them and a Rocker switch with a red LED inside. Hope you like it ! :)
PS took me 2 days well im a slow worker so i work carfully :)

where did you grab the power for the LEDs?

i got it from the keyboard, my keyboard gives out 5v and only uses 100ma so i have 400 to play with, those all lights use about 200--- so =D

ill post pics how i connected it to the power source in my keyboard. or u can see it your self open ur keyboard there will be a cable connecting to a chip plug thats what i call it, take a led and try first and last pins it should work, worked for me for every keybaord its different.

Great mod. Really original, BUT, IMO the red leds look awefull with the beige keyboard. :(
Try painting the entire keyboard black somehow... Well, You could also try different colored leds, but I don't think theres anything that goes well with beige...

Your keyboard, not mine, you choose. But I personally think the colours make the end result something that I would never want on my desktop... ;)

You wont fix that, DomainDLX will only give members unlimited bandwidth if they feel the site which is asking is "worthy". AKA Have actual substance the public sees everyday so DomainDLX can get free publicity. :D Try photobucket.com

thx guys naw.. i dont wana paint it.. 2 much hassle... lol maybe later :) right now im working on my case, on one side i cut out my logo on other i cut out a window, getting a plastic window 2morow with lights.. should be done soon ! :) but i dont know what to do with front panel, its so ugly ! ill post pics of it later

is eluminix a keybaord? if yes you can do this to any keybaord.. just to let u know ;) , they are just constructed differently, just dont forget to use resistors !

The Eluminix is an already pre-lit up keyboard ;)

Great work man. I agree that I don't really like the color scheme either, but it is still a great mod. A how-to would definately be great!
