View Full Version : One Must Fall Battlegrounds
Got this game a couple weeks ago. I think it's pretty cool. Anyone else played it? I was a big fan of OMF 2097. I got into modding the characters and the tournaments. I basically wanted to see if it lived up to the original. I think it does. I'm really anxious for the modding tools to come out. I heard there's going to be a classic OMF mod which incorporate robots from the original game. That will be cool.
I thought that OMF 2097 was a killer game. I played the demo of it for weeks/months on end, till I could get the full version. By that time I couldn't hardly play any of the other characters as I had specialized with the ones from the demo.
I tried the new OMF, but in the five minutes that I played I found it very hard to control. Haven't really given it a second look. It looks cool and seems to stand up to the original fairly well.
I LOVED OMF2097. It was so awesome. Haven't tried battlegrounds though, because of some less then great reviews.

I remember the original OMF as being pretty good, but the new one doesn't appeal to me.
Instead I am trying to remember an old combat game, where you built these huge transformer like robots, fitted their hands with chainsaws and hammers, and then went into tournaments to earn money for even bigger robots and better equipment.
Any of you purebloods recall the name of this one?
Cheers, Flix
Yeah the reviews definately stomped on OMF BG. Rather unfairly I think. The controls are different and it did take me a while to adjust. I mastered the original with the keyboard. Jaguar has always been my favorite. I think it's pretty neat though.
Was very disappointed in the reviews, especially Gamespy's.

Way too many crashes when the game was first launched. It's a decent game but with that many bugs in the beginning it deserved the bad reviews. The original is still awesome though, I have it up and running on my trusty dosbox :bday:
