Hi, I'm pretty new to overclocking and cooling and everything, I'm 16, just built my computer, it's a thunderbird 900, I overclocked the FSB to 954 for now, any higher results in too much heat when i try to play 3d games or when cpu is at high load. I have a heatsink and fan for my cpu and another heatsink and fan for my GeForce2 video card and one fan that takes the hot air out.
The problem is, my case offer only one apparent place to mount a fan on and the motherboard has only 3 fan power connectors. 2 are already used up, 1 for the cpu and 1 for the fan that takes the air out.
I read that fan fest article and the guy had 7 fans, does that mean he had 7 fan connectors on his motherboard? Can I use another source for the powering of fans?
Also, in another article the guy mounted a fan at the front of the case to take air in, but on my case there is the pc speaker there, but there are holes there that would be suitable for a fan placement, so can i just move the pc speaker to some other place and mount a fan there? Should I also tape shut the airholes from the power source that leads into the case?
Well, thanks for listening, any suggestions would be great, I probably should stop typing now . . .
