Just built a new rig for my mom. Here are the two problems i am having.

The floppy drive, during boot up gets an error 40. The system stops booting. I can get around this by going to the bios and telling it not to hault on any errors. However, the light on the drive stays consistantly lit.

I put in two hard drives in the computer. The new one (Set to master) and the second one (set to slave, this was from her old computer) I installed windows on the new drive, every thing went good, got into windows and see that the new drive is drive F: and the old drive is drive C: I took out the old drive after I was done transfering files, reboot the computer, get into windows that the new drive is still drive F: how do i change its name to drive C?

Thanks alot!

Floppy: Try flipping the connector around 180 degrees.

Drive lettering: Download TweakUI and under the My Computer tab, you can set which letters are availiable for use. (Might only work for XP Though).

Bingo, cable is in upside down. We have all done it.
