I dont know if any of you guys have played this game but I'm currently trying to finish Mecc's story five , The Battle this is the part of the game where you rebuild the base.

Now I've tried probably ten times and every single time the game freezes on me sometimes 5 min. into it somtimes 15 min.. I am running the game at the highest resolutiion with everything on so I guess I could start turning some of the features off.

If youve played this game please tell me what you've done to stop these lockups , like whick features ou turned of and things.

1.2 athlon 266fsb
leadtek ultra
256 2100 crucial

I was under the impression that my new system could handle any game , I wonder if this game just has a bug or something. I'm going to look for updates for this game at Interplay right now.

Well I've figured this one out if anybody wants to know.

All I did was go into my bios and set my AGP to 1x/2x I would guess either of those two setting will work its just my mobo has them combined. So all you need to do is change your 4x AGP to either 2x or 1x and you can leave everything else on high including resolution.

Well the game still locks on me but the occations are far and few between so the above helps but doesnt cure the "programming errors" for this game. *shrug* Oh well the game is still pretty fun.

Leadtek G2 ultra 2nd generation

The problem hasn't been solved but like I said the lockups are far and few between with these minor adjustments. I didn't really have any problems to speak of until I got to The Battle in Mecc's story Five. You've played the game so you know there is alot of action in this paticular phase of the game. How does your setup run in this section?

I ALSO HAD TROUBLE FIGURING OUT BIOS SETTINGS FOR MINE...AND DID DISABLE AGP 4X AT ONE POINT AND IT CURED MY INITIAL INSTABILITY...ONLY FOR AWHILE THO, FINALLY GOT IT CURED WITH A AGP APERTURE ADJUSTMENT...WENT FROM 256 TO 128 AND IT CURED IT...RESET TO 4X AND WOWEE ZOWEE...HOPE THAT MIGHT BE OF SOME HELP, BUT DIFF MOBO'S...WHOKNOWS

My little bro was having trouble with this game too. What kind of sound card do you have? He had generic AC97 audio on his mb which (at the time) was not Dx8 compatible. I got him a real sound card, and at the same time I got a new video card, so he got both on the same weekend. No more problems. The sound card he got was a cheap PCI128 (from creative) and my old vid card was a geforce256.

His system:
Athlon 800 Mhz
512 MB SDRAM
Geforce 256
PCI 128 Audio
10/100 NIC
Runs it fine (I think he uses 800*600*16) and doesn't lock up.

That could very well be my problem I'm using the on board audio that came with my epox AC7 with the 686 A/B audio drivers.

Could be. Try getting updated drivers (or even try disabling the sound). Hope it helps...

**edit** or just get the cheat that gives you all the missions and skip that one :) I don't wanna post it publicly, though, some ppl get mad when ppl cheat ;D

Alright I've got it solved , well I've played the game for about an hour , built a base with Delphi won a race then I just had to stop.

Ok , all you have to do if this game is locking up on you is go into your audio properties by clicking on the speaker in the bottom of your screen , then you go into both of the Advanced Properties sections and turn the Hardware Acceleration all the way down (as far to the left as you can go which just turns it off). Now I have noticed absolutly no difference in sound quality by doing this but I'm not a music buff so as far as I can tell there is no difference. I was able to leave my AGP slot at 4x and leave every setting on high with the highest resolution at 32bit color aswell , so as far as I can tell the glich is only sound related. I hope this will help someone out other than me but if not no biggy.

:) :D
