Any difference between the Abit KG7 ,Lite,Raid ?

I heard there are 3 KG7s im like what the heck??? There are supposidly the KG7 the KG7-Lite and KG7-Raid I just bought the kg7 lite today for $160 in my local store well is the one I got ok? Does it have the same features as the others I can care less of 2 dimms less and no raid lol.

the lite's only difference is the lack of 2 dimms..as far as I know...

Lite version does not include a usb connection cable for use in the pci slot.

Abit's site only lists two - the RAID and the Lite. The Lite has no RAID and 2 DIMM slots. The RAID, of course, has RAID and four DIMM slots.

There's a third version not listed on Abit's site.. just the plain KG7. It has 4 dimm slots like the raid version, but.. no raid. :) For a SCSI man like myself, IDE RAID is useless to me but I'd wait the 4 dimm slots so this is the one I would buy.

I think vendors on pricewatch sell it as the KG7 (non-raid). Just make sure in the descritption it says no raid but 4 dimms. That's how you know you're getting the right one.

Thx for the replys and all the info guys. Well 2 dims should do fine for me I only got 2 x 256mbs DDR crucial PC2100 any ways , so ill just wait for the claw hammer or sledge hammer and worry then about the ram cause there will be diff DDR ram then like 333mhz ram or higher. Im glad at least the lite has all the overclocking features =).

Hey guys, I was just wondering, would upgrading from a KT7A to a KG7 be a worthwhile upgrade? If I did upgrade to that mobo, what kinda performance increase should I expect to see (if any)? I wouldnt wanna spend the money on a new mobo and ram and only see a 1 fps boost in games.;)

I'd say going from a KT7A to a KG7 would give you about a 400 - 700 point boost in 3dmark2001. Of course, the KG7's FSB overclocks a lot better too.

Damn im 2 lazy to put together my comp and put my mobo in case and reformat lol..... so I guess ill post if its a good overclocker and stuff when i setup my comp and waterblock to tapwater again...
