Seems that the boys@SETI have screwed up the CGI or page layout or something, cause I am getting errors in the Excel data capture from the SETI web site... :( :( : ( probably a result of the changes they have been making....

The short story is that personal stats will be more difficult to update.... I have emailed Chris (Excel sheet author) to see if he has a work around... but I might not hear from him for a day or two...

I have tried EVERYTHING... export all data, import fresh data, build a new sheet, all has resulted in errors...

Time for a TIME OUT...

i am sorry...i had to leave for a while...the team that is...i am doing a LOT of school work and the SETI in the background is KILLING the precious time i have. I will put SETI on my bro's computer i am building, he is cool with that...so in a few weeks my crunching will continue, but i cannot right now...

BTW

my bro's system is going to be PRETTY fast...so i am looking towards low 4s to high 3s on the times

Kris - see thread 'Attn Kris' and if interested, let me know. I think that I could design something that would be less of a headache.

Was playing with excel and I was able to import stats give it a try.

it's not that I can't import stats.. it's that the query table for the web stats is chopping up the user names & creating different accounts... suggestions? I have tried everything I can come up with... :(

If I save those stats, it will destroy up to 10 weeks of history data for everyone on the team...

Data looks fine to me but I've never seen it before in excel (looks just like the web page), did you create a new excel doccument and try to import the data yourself?

yes... that is the sheet that our team stats come from (albiet modified quite a bit)...

go to the "config" sheet... type in our team name, start date (11/1/00), & your time zone (PST = -8)...

then "clear all history data"...

go to the main "stats" sheet and click on the update button... when you get done look at #36, it displays "37)" as the user... BIG PROBLEM.... (as this error wipes out historical data for about 300 active team members)... this also happens at other places on the sheet...

If that doesn't happen for you... then I have a problem on my end... but I REALLY doubt it...

Ive tryed this a a dozzen times and it keeps asking me to fix my time zone, what exactly do I have to put in there

Morpheus

I put in "-8" because I am in the PST zone... in MA you would be -5...

I'm a member of another team and have around 1400 completed WUs. If I transfer to Team Seti do these stats stay with the old team or transfer with me? I've heard it both ways but has anyone here actually tried it to find out for sure?

All personal credits follow you to what ever team you are a part of. When you quit a team, your credits leave that team, and joining a new team, all credits now go to the new team.

I switched from MaximumPC about 2 months ago and all my credits followed me.

Go ahead and join overclockers - we are the hottest team going.

If I understand it correctly they transfer over. Morpheus knows best though.

Most logically the WU's will come over, but the stats not. Their stats keeping is most probable in a different format. Not to think about what they will do when we ask them "will you please give us some stats, some members want to leave your team". Isn't much fun for them, but ok. We can keep your stats from the moment on when you joint our team!

well... when we figure out problems with our excel stuff described above. Hope that will come soon...

I hope to meet you on our team someday, greetings,
Murphy

I wish the SETI folks would get there situation sorted. This up and down stuff is most troublesome at times.
