dvd media speed compatiblitiy question

I have a 2.4x DVD burner. I went through a pack of 2.4X HP DVD+R's just fine. I recently got a pack of Verbatim 4x. Still burning with Nero at 2.4X, the disc burns but at the very end an error occurrs. This has happened for 5 discs already :argue: :bang head

If you have a 2.4X drive can you not use any media rated over 2.4x?

Thats what it appears to be. Let me copy what it says on the back of the case of my TDK 4x DVD+R media.

Ths media is intended for use with 4x speed drives. Using this media with drives rated at 2.4x maximum spped may result in recording and reading errors, and/or may result in damage to the data stored on this media. For more information, contact your drive's manufacturer, or go too www.tdk.com/dvdinfo

I wish my Verbatim had that warning. Well it might have, i threw the label away. Thanks for the post though...I'm off to hunt out 2.4x discs which dont' really exist anymore :-/
