VGA Silencer Question

Hi guys,

I just received my vga silencer today hoping to mount it on my newly flashed 9800xt :p. However, on the video card (sapphire 9800pro 128mb) the fan connector has 3 pin, but on the vga silencer, the power cord only has 2 pin. Anyway I can modify so the pins matches?

Do you have the vga silencer rev 3 ?

ya, rev 3

problem solved. i was able to pull the base of the connector out and connect the 2pin connector directly to the pins.

heya, I got a question regarding mounting the rev. 3 also. Do you need to remove the shim that is around the gpu before mounting the vga silencer? It doesnt look like the vga silencer has perfect contact with the gpu with the shim there. I tried using a knife to remove the shim but its stuck on there pretty well and I didnt want to hose my 9800 pro. Are you guys mounting the vga silencer with the shim on there like I did?

i didn't remove it. i just installed the vga silencer on after i removed the stock hs.
