RIght now I have a 32 MG SDRAM Geforce 2 Mx 400 and i'm wondering if this would be compatible with Linux. Specifically Mandrake 8.0. Will it?
I have a GF2 Ultra and an MX(not the 400) and they both work fine in Mandrake 8 and game great! However I run SuSE, just like to test out several distro's to keep up to date. The MX400 should work I don't see any reason why it would'nt you will just have to dl and install the latest drivers from NVidia.

alright good deal, that was the only hardware of my computer that i feared would not be compatible with mandrake/linux. thanks ken you eased some tension for me...
I had to muck about to get mine to work in Linux, i posted it in one of the Alternate OS threads...can't remember whic one..
find the relevant kernel and GLX rpms.
and use rpm -Uvh <package> --nodeps --force
You may need to edit /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and make sure that the driver line says "nvidia"
