This is a clean install and my c: is allready upto 1.7 gig.............What?

I notice theres a file in the root called "pagefile.sys" this is a whopping 600 meg.

I suppose you need this ?

You don't need that large of a pagefile. If you have at least 256MB of RAM on that PC then a pagefile of 256-384MB will be more than sufficient.

If you formatted your drive with FAT32 filesystem then it will take up more space as well. It's optimized for NTFS and using that saves me at least 200MB.

Largest my install ever got before installing my programs was about 900MB.

Theres 390 meg on the pc.

Plus the drive is ntfs.

I suppose theres no way to edit the size and use of this pagefile

Yeah, pagefile is messed, but Windows 2000 is oh so delicious!
