I was helping my friend put his computer together (we both have almost the exact same comp) when his chip would NOT slip into the mobo. Yes, it was oriented correctly and all that jazz. Then, I noticed that the pin on the very top left, the one that kinda is on it own, was slightly bent. Now my question is, if we straighten it out with our finger, pliers, wutever, will it still work?? I want to know before I do this. I know its a stupid question but one can never be too awful sure when your playin with $100 plus dollars, after all, we are just high school students :D

You shouldn't have any problems if you straighten it out. I have straightened the pins on many processors with out any problems.
just be really careful not to break the pin off.
I've fixed a few processors with benth pins with the head of a mechanical pencil.
Either way, you've got nothing to loose right?
the processor won't run with a bent pin. So, you might as well give it a shot.

yes ive been there too, i felt a little nervous too but its really not that hard to do aslong as you are carefull and dont allow it to bend the other way [back and forth it will break] so like the nike adverts say...JUST DO IT!
