In the future, with more support for SSE, we will see the Morgan and Palamino accelerate over the current Athlons and older Duron processors. So with this said, it would be almost wise for all those in the market purchasing a new PC or upgrading an older PC to either wait three weeks for the release of the Palamino core or purchase a 1GHz Duron with the Morgan core.

It is possible that a 1.0GHz Duron will out perform and 1.0GHz Athlon in almost everything if the Duron is hyped up onto a 266MHz BUS (Which is easy and 'non' dangerous :) ). With AMD now supporting SSE, this will completely crush the Celeron2/Coppermine line of CPUs right off the map!

The Morgan ( new duron) does beat the T-bird in SEE benchmarks.
But the T-bird also has all that extra cache that we have all grown to love. The Morgan @ 1.0Ghz also cost more that a T-bird....
But i think i would rather have teh Cache than SSE.. or just wait for the Athlon 4, all the great cache, SEE and even more

I think how it's gonna be is that the TBirds will become the new Duron equivilent, and the Palominos will be the top dog...TBirds are really cheap, now, but the Durons are in a class of their own as far as price is concerned!
