Im running a p4 2.8ghz 533fsb, stock no overclock with water cooling.
A program called "Siv for GBT" tells me 23 Cpu 38 system degrees. Water cooling.

Before this I was on air, 5 fans getting like 20 Cpu and 28 system.

I also double checked by using bios temperture and says about the same reading as the program +- 1-3degree of each measurement.

I also did a test by not running the water pump for water coolnig and loaded up winters, the cpu did report going up to 30degrees and not coming down.. as soon as i restart computer and turn pump on again cpu temps would come down. So cpu and system temps arent mixed up..

So im mixed, why do I hear everyone saying they have temps of like 30+ cpu..

Can anyone help me.

what is your ambient temp? and under load your cpu can't be at 23 unless your water is chilled or you are living some place freezing cold. and it makes no sense for the cpu temp to be lower than system temps. again unless your water is chilled, those two temps are mixed.

BIOS temp monitors are always wrong. Programs get thier temperatures from the BIOS readings, you really can trust them.

Is this an Asus board, per chance?

Get a thermometer (digital display) and put it as close to the cpu core as possible.

Well, I can tell you right off that you're air cooling temps are wrong... it's physically impossible to get cpu temps lower than the temp of the air in your case... it's pretty darn close to impossible to get even close to your case temp. So I'm guessing that the program that you're using is reading the wrong temp or that the BIOS on your board needs to be updated.

With watercooling, I'm not sure.... If the water was cooled sufficiently, then you might be able to get those temps, but then again if that program was wrong with the air cooling it's probably wrong with the water cooling. Have you tried downloading Motherboard Monitor and using that to monitor your temps?

If you could put your system into your signature, that would help out a lot too, thanks :)

BTW, hope I didn't sound too harsh.... Welcome to the Forums!!! :)

Nah not harsh at all.
Just updated my sig.

Monitor: StudioWorks 995E 19"
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2.80GHz 533MHz FSB
MotherBoard: Gigabyte GA-8S648FX
Video: Gecube Radeon x800 w/ vivo
Sound: Onboard Realtek AC'97 Audio
Memory: 2x Generic 512DDR 333mhz RAM
HD: Seagate 80GB 7500rpm
HD2: 12G unknown unknown
Burner: LG 52x24x24 CDRW

Im guessing my bios is reading wrong tempertures then. Hmm, feel like flashing my motherboard bios but but dont want to risk stuffing up my board.

Have you tried MBM5 yet? Here's a link MBM5 (http://mbm.livewiredev.com/)

BTW, do you have a stock HS on your processor?

he said he uses water cooling...

Yeah when I was air cooling yes stock hs+fan. I have tried MBM5 long time ago, pretty much same temperture output as in bios and the program im using. I will give it a try again in a moment.

make sure you follow the sensors for your board on the mbm5 website.
