For what? lol Generally, most people use unbuffered.

Generally unbuffered is all you need. Dual CPU systems and the like often require registered RAM to aid stability. For example AMD 760MPx based boards can use unbuffered RAM in the first four slots only. You would need registered RAM to fill all 4 slots.
