help overclocking 9800 pro 128 mb

but how safe is the overclocking tab and how far should i go past the 376 MHz Core clock and the 337.5 MHz Memory clock speeds? i dont want to damage my new card

when you overclock your card you have to do it in small steps.... start with the ram then go to the core... maybe do it in 5mhz increments. You'll have to test the card with a program like 3dmark03 or aquamark3. there are plenty of guides and even some in this forum that can help you with that.

I highly recommend the VGA Silencer! You also might want to try the XT mod. You can probably just boost your FSB and memory up about 20 or so, but Houserat has the right idea, go slow.
