View Full Version : Sk-6
Hi all
I ordered the Sk-6 with a delta 38 cfm fan,Got it today put it in and now my temps are, At idel 49c and max 56c. I think I should work on some more or differant case fans to get better temps.
Also the room where the pc is, is about 70 degrees,so maybe thats does'nt help much.
Oh and D*** that delta sounds like a hair blower!!!It Screams!!
Thanks for the help!!
I'm running my SK-6 with an 80mm adapter and 80mm fan on it. I doubt my temps would be any where as good as they are with a delta screamer on it but oh well. Actually according to my Asus probe my temps idle around 59c! I did finally break down and order some ASII though. So I'm hoping that will help.
I was just looking at the whole wire and cable mess I have in my box, I'm going to wire tye and tape them togther to see if it make for better air circulation.

What kind of Thermal grease did you use? Temps that high with a SK-6, it sounds like it is not mounted properly. Make sure that it is not lifted off the CPU up at the head of the socket. SK-6's aren't cut properly for the top of the socket and hang on that lip.
I used the pad that came with the sk-6.And it looks like its sitting nice and flat.

You need good thermal grease - like Artic Silver II. The pad is not going to transfer the heat from the CPU to the HS properly. Your temps will go down quite a lot if you use good thermal grease.
It would bring it down more? If so I will pick some up Tommorrow.
Thanks
