Myself I get 3megs a sec off my cable modem

128kbps upstream

I don't play alot of online gaming so the upstream speed is fine for me.

The day my DSL worked, I tied my 56K modem to the back of my car with string, and drove to Los Angeles via freeways. (I live 1.2 hrs away from downtown)

When I got back home, all that was left wat a little bit of string.

And, no, I'm not joking. I seriously did drove 3 hours with a modem tied to my tow loop in the back of my car.

I would do that
but I could probably sell it to some sucker on ebay for 50$ :cool:

Awww crap. I shoulda thought of that... it was a USRobotics external 56K v.90 X2. Nice ass modem, but I wanted it GONE quickly after my DSL was on. $50... I could have REALLY used that for the following month's bill...

nice, a few of my friends get really good connections through DSL, i get about 3.4 megs a sec with my cable modem, my mom's office has T3 connections, god i would kill for that.........

I have Verizon DSL for about 8 months now... they have me capped at 505k down and 128k up :(

I was happy till I just read your speeds! I think I'll give them a call on Monday and raise H*** as I am only 1000 feet from the OC.

I'm about the same, but I get a full ~750Kb/sec. download. (1 meg every 11.2 seconds average)

I suggest you go to www.dslreports.com, and get the tweaker before you go calling Verizon. It could be very possiblt that your RWIN is set too low.

Thanks, PnLuBB... but I have tweaked my RWIN and everything else DSLREPORTS has taught me so much that my fingers hurt! LOL... It's a call on Monday for me.

I have cable it has been really bad for like a month with speeds between 60 k to 300 k im supposed to be capped at 768 down 128 up i just checked my speeds and i am flying faster then ever im getting speeds of 950 bursting into the 1 meg range Whoooo Hooooooo finally working right :)
