HI all,

My system is:
Shuttle AN35 Ultra, AMD 2800+, overclocked to 180 fsb (multiplier was locked at 12.5), Vcore 1.7V,
with 2 sticks of 512 MB Corsair VS pc3200 rams and 1 stick of 512 MB generic pc3200 ram (for a total of 1.5 GB). Ram timing is 11-3-3-2.5. Ram voltage is default as I see no need to increase it as I'm not even remotely reaching PC3200 (DDR400) speed.

Prima95 passed and stable with no problem.
I d/l the cd image of memtest, booted it up and ran all memory diagnostic from the menu: memtest86, Windows mem test and DocMem memory diagnostic to test the memory. Everything passed except memtest86 failed on test #5. I ran it several times and the failed addresses were always different. There were about 8 of them ranging from 400 MB range to 1.2 GB range.

What exactly does it mean? Every other tests (other memtest86 tests and Windows Mem Diag and DocMem diag) passed successfully, except just this one, test #5.

I would really appreciate your help and comments.
Thank you.

Thank you all for your help and comments. I appreciate it.
Today after work, I just ran some tests and these are the results. I would appreciate your comments again. My AMD 2800+ is locked so the multiplier is fixed at 12.5.

1) I ran several different combinations of fsb/Vcore/ram voltage etc...:
It does look like the RAM Voltage was what caused memtest #5 to fail at higher FSB:

FSB / Vcore / Ram V / memtest86 #5
------- ------- --------- ------------------
166 1.65 AUTO passed
175 1.80 AUTO failed with 2 errors
175 1.825 AUTO passed
178 1.80 AUTO failed w/2 errors
178 1.85 AUTO failed w/10 errors
178 1.825 2.6 passed
182 1.825 2.6 failed w/10 errors
182 1.825 2.7 passed
185 1.825 2.7 passed
190 1.825 2.7 didn't even POST

The shuttle AN35 Ultra's ram voltage can only be set to either AUTO, 2.6 or 2.7V.

2) After finding out that 185 fsb, 1.825 Vcore and 2.7 Ram V was good, I ran 2 hours of memtest86 with all tests and they all passed.
I then ran 30 minutes of prime95 and it passed too.

The questions remaining are:

- Is 2.7 V ram voltage safe?
- memtest86 shown my Shuttle AN35 Ultra + AMD 2800+ as having th e following throughput:
L1 : 14188 MB/s
L2 : 4516 MB/s
mem: 1309 MB/s

What are your numbers? These numbers seem too low?

Sandra gave me:

mem bench: 2741 / 2521
CPU bench: 8740 / 3542
