Just slide the thermistor under your waterblock so that the end of it touches the side of your CPU core. You may need to trim some of the black rubber off to get it to fit, but this is easy with a sharp knife and a little care. Check ocmod.com, they have a great article on how to set it up with a switch to monitor several sensors with one thermometer.
thank you WyrmMaster for the reply :) one last question tho..what should i use to heep the probe there? tape? if so what kind of tape?
well all i did was just slide it under there untill the tip touched the side of the cpu then table it there..now the compunurse is reporting a temp of only 27.7C! now i dont know if it is in direct contact with the cpu or not but according to my bios my case temp is 33C and cpu is 38C..so that means that the computer has been off...by alot!and if it is touching the cpu then is it possible for my watercooled P4 1.7 to be running at only 28C idle?

AmdGuY has water cooling and when he did this his temps were much lower than the bios, so I think your ok.
