Everyone is always talking about how great Home Depot is for watercooling stuff. Well I was there today buying some latex enamal, so I thought I'd have a look and see if the rumors were true(not that I need anymore wet gear).
They only had two water pumps, both were submersable models. One was a 370GPH model that cost $44. The other was a 500GPH model that cost $95. Both a little on the large size IMHO.
When I asked about underground electrical junction boxes the reply I got was "we don't carry anything rated for underground use." So I checked anyway and the dude was right, nothing.
Man, looks like this place is only good if your looking for paint or Pergo to me. Anyone seriously have better luck at there local HD?

I don't know about pumps, but my Home Depot sure outshined my local Lowe's in the electrical junction box department. All shapes and sizes and designs. The only "wet stuff" I've gotten from either place is my tubing, silicone sealant, junction box and spray paints to mod the exterior of my case. The rest of the stuff I order online.

Sounds like you had the same luck I had at Home Dope. The only thing I could find in the store was 3/8 hose. They had very few fittings for 3/8" and 1/2".
I went to 3 (HD) store and was told at all 3 that they do not carry the underground electrical junction boxes. So I had to order it online from them.

Lowes is not too bad in my neck of the woods, its a lot closer than HD though they don't have those junction boxes, i think. Really wish they carried cat 5 connectors like HD does though.

For fittings and hose try your local fluid connector distributors. In Nebraska we have a local place called Kriha Fluid & Power. They will have just about anything you can imagine for fluid and pneumatic applications. They will also have stuff that you hadn't imagined yet ;). (I just recently found out about a line of pushlock fittings that my company makes .. carried by Kriha. Headed there on Monday!!)

The electrical junction box, brass fittings, hoses, clamps and pump in my system all came from the 'Depot. Of course the guy looked at me like I was smoking my socks when I told him I was watercooling a computer. :D

You guys all must live in hicksville Boonie Town. The 2 Home Depots that are close to me (Within 2 miles) both carry everything you could possibly want, save a block of copper to carve into a waterblock, or perhaps a radiator (Never looked for a radiator). They both have those underground junction boxes, they both have tubing of all sizes, materials, and colors, they both have fittings of all sorts. They both have nuts and bolts and zip ties and any other thing you might use to attach a waterblock. They both have pumps. They both have hose clamps.
I dunno about your local Home Depots, but I'd write them a NASTY letter, telling them to expand to meet customer's needs.

Actually I do live in Hicksville, Boonie Town, but I still find it funny I could find pretty much everything I needed, outside of pumps, radiators and waterblocks, at HD/Lowes, also surprised that both carried CAT5 and punch-down tools.
Newbie_Doo, the guy helping me did the exact samething, but he did help me find all the right fittings I needed.

Are you sure you guys are going to home depot ? Does the store your going to have an orange sign ? My local depot has a great supply of fittings, hose, and OUTDOOR electrical junction boxes.

FWIW, I get tubing, fittings, speedclamps (the squeeze-to-release deals - WAY faster to apply/remove than the screw-tightened ones, and similar holding power so far - I just grab 'e with my Gerber Legend 800 and slip 'em on or off), and NEMA-rated enclosures from Lowe's. The only thing with a stupid pricetag is the NEMA box - $9 and change for a 4" x 4" x 4" NEMA-4 plastic enclosure. (About to use it as my reservoir.)

Yep got all my stuff from home D including the outside junction box. You DONT want to get a pump from them but they do have all the fittings you could ever want.

I'm a self-employed contractor who hates HOme Depot for their high prices and garbage wood products. They remind me of a KMart store. But the ones around me do carry all the plumbing and electrical things you guys are saying are not at your store. I bought my Beckett 350 GPH submersible, 5/8" clear tubing, barbed ends and so on for my water cooling system. They had many sizes of pumps there.

I think the AK is outright illeagal, but it's a russian built 1962 and it doesn't even have any serial numbers, so naturely it was never registered.
Well all of them are not bad, but the ones near me in Queens N.Y.C. are. They did have the hoses in all sizes but not that much in the way of fittings. And thats after getting someone to help you becasue everything is locked up behind glass doors.
The electrical junction boxes they do not have or will not stock them do to the electrical code here. You can't use plastic boxes here so they do not stock them, but you can get a nice 8"x8"x8" metal one for $60

Hold on, hold on. You want him to write to Home Depot and complain and ask them to better meet customer needs???
Let's review.
You want Home Depot, a hardware store, to change to meet the needs of a computer user. I know it's a hardware store, but that's not what hardware means in this case.
You want them to stock special parts for a computer.
Let me repeat myself....it's a construction material store.
It's Home Depot...not Watercooling Depot.
You want a store that specializes in construction and home maintenance to go out of its way to stock special parts for one person, to use on, not his home...his computer.
I wish I was the manager so I could point and laugh.

No, I think he should write a letter to get them to carry more hard to find parts, such as an outdoor junction box, brass fittings, copper sheets, and what not. All of it is used for construction, but can be used for watercooling also. I'm not saying he should ask them to cater to a watercooler's needs, that's obsurd.
