missing drive

I just added a 60 gig maxtor to my system, ( got a replacement from maxtor from a old drive that I had sitting here at the house) so I install it like Ive done many other times. Boot up and all goes good. Check Device manager, its there working correctly. Alls good but....

Its not showing up in my computer.... my other 2 are. So I reboot and make sure it in the bios and it is. Boot back up and its still not there.

Got any ideas why the drive letter isnt showing up in my computer ?

Have you partitioned and formatted it yet?

If you are running XP go to Control Panel -> Admin Tools -> Computer Management -> Storage Management and create a new partion on your disk. Then it will show up in My computer and you can format it :)

yes that was it, cant believe I missed that...... I totally spaced it off. I sohuld sit back and slow down, with the kids yelling in the background and stuff I was just getting a bit rattled and frogt that. agian TY

Remember a few 6 yr old's will control you until they move out.

LOL, no problem. I have forgotten to partition before as well and wondered where my drive went ;)
