Howdy all. I'm not sure if my temps are wierd or not. Please give some advice.
I have a Lian-Li PC-10 case (same as the PC-60 but with a white finish) with two 80 mm intakes in the front and one 80 mm exhaust in the back near the CPU. Also have the Antec PP403X exhausting a very little bit. I'm going to add a top exhaust fan soon and a side intake soon, but the temps I'm getting now with this setup are a little wierd.
At 1.8 volts and stock speed, 1.4 GHz on my AYHJA Y, load temp is 45 C. I thought this was due to high ambient temperature (85 F) but at night it dropped below 75F and my load temp only went down to 44 C.
1.47 is only stable at 1.9 volts and crashes once in a while. 1.54 crashes very frequently. 1.61 posts but won't boot. I took the cover off my case and put a large fan in the side and that dropped my load temp with 1.9 volts @ 1.54 down to 43 C. It was stable at this point. 1.61 still wouldn't boot. In any case, heat is my issue.
So sorry for rambling, and here's my question:
With decent (not great) airflow and a Swiftech MC462A, should I be getting temps this high? Or is the heatsink not making contact properly? I also put a very thin layer of AS2 on the core. Was it too thin? Thanks for any advice anyone can give me. :)
