I got a CD/RW Drive for my computer and I was having trouble writing CDs. I finally upgraded to Nero 6.3 and got Sonic DLA and I was finally off burning CDs, but it's very slow writing speed.

It says the drive is capable of 52x Read, 52x Write, and 24x RW. In Nero 6, it only allows me to write R discs @ 16x and RW discs at 4x. Same thing's happening in my DLA as it's taking like 10 minutes to write 200MB in files (click and drag).

How can I get the software to recognise that it's capable of those higher speeds?

BTW, it's an I/O Magic 52x24x52/16 combo drive.

well, i'd try burning a cd with some other softwar,e try a trial of alchohol 120%.

i have a no-name 52X24X52 that will write 48X no problem, (i only have 48X disks) but will only rw at 4X. the rw disks are 4X.

Anyways, it may be your software, it may be your disks, and it MAY be that the computer cant get it data as fast as it needs it. (this would only be the case if its in an older computer,m the one in your sig should be way more than enough for 52X burning)

ya, it's the compu in my sig. Maybe it is the discs, but how would it be able to tell the CD's maximum R/RW speed? I have no idea what the discs are capable of, there's no number on the disc itself.
