MX700 Dock no longer functioning

For awhile, all I had to do was drop the mouse in, and that was it! It charged, and charged quickly.

Then, for a while, I had to giggle it a bit in the dock before it would charge. That's alright, however. I can live w/ that.

Now, it won't even charge at all. No matter how much or how long I fight w/ it, it just won't start charging.

I've cleaned the contacts w/ rubbing alcohol, searched through Logitech's forum, all to no avail. I think I'ma hit them up for an RMA number, but I just wanted to know what you guys thought, and if anybody's ever had any experience w/ this issue, and if they did, how they solved it.

Try using a rubber eraser from a pencil to clean the contacts on both the mouse and dock (while unplugged of course). Rubbing alcahol while effectif wont remove the gunk that is stuck on like a eraser will.

Had the same problem, I left a screwdriver to bend one of the contacts out more for about a day, now it works like new.

Also check for debris in the bottom of the cradle. Stuff sometimes get down in there and doesnt allow the mosue to fall in all the way.

And just also check the batteries. Slap in some new rechargables because they only last for so long. And congrats on the mod status! :D

This may sound stupid, but make sure that the cradle is completely plugged into an outlet. I was having similar problems (mouse took awhile before starting to charge, didnt charge at all). Imagine the look on my face when aI realized that it wasnt plugged in all the way :)
